As a general rule only people who are 18 or older can sign a contract and have it be binding. An owner of a rental unit needs a signature on a rental contract. If you are the only person signing they can not enforce the contract given you are under 18.

Many landlords will want to verify your credit. You might not have much of a credit history at this point.

A larger down payment can avoid the credit issue in many situations.

Contact the local social services office or housing authority. They can help you understand the local options. Or find a friend or relative that is comfortable signing for you (cosigner). They have to be someone who will trust you to make the payments on time.
