"Skype is a piece of free software that lets you make free calls to anyone else using Skype, anywhere in the world. You can also make free video calls with webcams and call landlines/mobile phones at really cheap per minute rates."

All you need is a microphone and headphone (or both combined in one headset - ask at any electronics store), Skype, and an Internet connection to make a call.

Besides calling, you can also IM (Instant-Message/Chat) with other Skype users.

"Skype works on most kinds of computers — Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Pocket PCs. Calls, chats and file transfers work between all kinds of computers."

It's a dependable program - I use it all the time to talk to my brother (he's overseas), all for free. There are no strings attached, and overall Skype is a pretty good deal, especially if you're speaking with a limited group of people (say, family members, friends, etc.).

skype is a programme that allows u to call people over the internet.. so.. u can call ppl on either their mobile or computer.. u juz need a icrophone to start talking to them.. if u talk to them when they are using the computer (and they r using skype), u can even c them if they hav a webcam n vice versa.. by the way. computer - computer calling is free.. no additional fees required except 4 you r monthly internet usage bill..

alternatively, u can call them on their phone when they are away frm the computer.. but u'll be charged by skype 4 a small fee.. its good to make use of skype when ur making idd calls.. they are cheaper even if u use skype to call ppl on their phones..
