Join a book club. You can ask about this at your local bookstore. They have a lot of social events including "readings" where you can listen to the author or poet. I've met a few nice "gay" dudes in the book clubs I belong to.

Go to your local gay bar/club and just be yourself,smile and if you spot someone you are interested in smile and keep eye contact!!!then if he doesnt come to you go over to him and maybe buy him a drink!!!!
