What do you think of the saying, "God invented whiskey to keep the Irish from conquering the world?"

Why do you think this would be true? Why do you think this would be false?

(I'm not saying that God himself actually came to deliver whiskey to the Irish, this is not a religious question. Being of Irish background, I just want to get an impression of Irish stereotypes.)

Lol. I'm irish as they come, boyo. (american irish, but I like to pretend)

Looking at irish streotypes, lets look at it this way. Irish families are supposed to have tons of babies. They grow exponentionally, really. If the irish didn't have whiskey to keep them happy right where they are, then the sheer weight of the population would take over the world. (Apparently irish people are like rabbits... the population stays stable until it finds a new area to take over, and then BAM, population boom, and there are irish people everywhere) That, or irish people are just so damned smart that we'd do it if we weren't drunk all the time!

By the way, I think God did bring whiskey to the irish. Such a perfect fit must be divinely inspired.

Great question. :) Thanks for the smile!

It's ridiculous, 1/2 the world seems to be Irish because they have a ninth cousin twice removed who was. I think the Irish already rule the world.

I think that is one of the recipies God really did phone in. Irish Whiskey, (Scotch) Whiskey, beer. There are a few others, maybe I will write a _God's_Cookbook_.

You don't have to be Irish to like that stuff. I like Jameson, thats my favorite with red bull. I got a hold of a case of 20 year old case Jameson, and well I don't remeber one month of my life.
