Betta fish fighting?

Hi there am training my betta to fight, for some reason two fish pecking at each interested me and my friends, so i bought 5 gold fish and 1 male betta, i put them in all together over about a week all of them were dead (except the Male betta) anyways to get to my question

are there any good tips for training

IS IT ILLEGAL!!!! o my gosh i didnt know that, i mean i thought they were just fish ya know, lol im only 15 forgive lol, my brother said that when he went to chico, they would always have like 10 of them in a big tank fighting lol

but still is there any training tips i can give my brother lol

lol i wasn't trying to make anybody mad, i knew there were going to be some mad hippies lol but i really need advice on how to train Atlas my fish how to become more vicious

lol and no they didnt die from a chemical, they had there fins torn and there scales ripped off, you could almost see there internals


no once Atlas dies im probably going to get fresh water fish that can live together yet be pretty at the same time, but until Atlas dies im gunna fight him 8)

you can't train a beta to be any more vicious, it's instinct they go by. they are naturally agressive and territorial fish, no wonder all ur goldfish died (goldfish aren't agressive or territorial). plus, forcing a fish to fight is cruel, how could u just sit and watch them tear eachother apart. u should probly see someone about that, maybe u didn't get enough love as a child. anywayz, sorry to disappoint u but u won't have any luck training ur beta to be more agressive.

fighting any animal for your own entertainment is wrong.

in thailand, where the domestic fighting fish was bred from more peaceful wild counterparts, they treat their fish like little kings, and in true fights (not backstreet dodgy deals, or a bunch of moron kids thinking they're clever) the fish do not die, and do not suffer any fatal injuries, the first fish to back down is the loser, sometimes they don't even put the bettas in the same tank and just use a clear divider. any injuries received are then treated with ultimate luxury, expensive meds, IAL water, and then the winner is often retired to be bred from, the loser will go on to be a pet status or (which i disagree with) are released into the wild (this is thailand though...)

either way, you will NOT find true fighting bettas in the US, and if you do they've been pretty much illegally brought into the country. the fish you find in the petstore, would be equivalent to fighting toy poodles or chihuahuas. they don't know how to fight, but they know they don't like this other betta in their tiny bowl where they've been dumped by a group of moron kids who don't know any better.

in the wild bettas do not seek out a fight, they just defend their territory and chase off rivals. neither fish will want to get fatally injured.

oh and your 5 goldfish probably died from ammonia poisoning, not the betta.

Am I the only one that can see the only reason you asked this question is to get people pissed off. Come on now...are there any good tips for training my fish to fight? Find something better to do with your time.

When you grow up you won't want to do this anymore, hopefully. Why don't you take up Kung-Fu and fight for yourself instead of making little fish fight. Small minded little boys love to see little things hurt.

bettas are known as fighting fish, theyre extremely territorial and kill any other fish.. duhh.. im 16 and i knew that when i was 13 ur just an idiot =D

why dont you just stop now, hasnt he proved himself to be king, get some nice fish that will be compatible with him, and let him be king xxx
