we did it this sunday in our in 1.5 hrs :) its a fantastic road...

Depends pretty much on 2 factors:
1. What is your mode of travel (own car, bus or train)?
2. What time of the day (as you might get caught in traffic just getting out of Bangalore)?
Its best to factor a door-to-door of 3-4 hours including a short pit-stop in between.
