I am going back to Uni after a year out soon and will be needing a new computer. As space is at a premium i'd like a computer I can watch freeview on (which I know isn't a problem) and i'd also like to be able to plug my Playstation in and use that too.
So basically I want to buy a new computer and replace my TV. Oh and i'm on a budget of around £800. Any ideas?

Just make sure it has video and audio inputs and a TV tuner card installed.

I bought a 19-inch lcd tv/monitor that does double duty for $200.00(USD) It is a Westinghouse. I have seen a few others but not as good a deal. The computer is something you can build and still come in under budget. Another option is to buy a laptop with a tv tuner built into the video card or build a pc with a tv tuner in the video card.

OK here's the trick
Buy any PC that supports ur budget
U will need a TV box
It comes with a remote.
U basically connect ur monitor to the output slot of the card and the cable wire or for that matter the wireless cable plug in the input slot.
Ur TV will be on the very next second
Happy viewing.
For theplay station
There is also a port for external input video in the tv box

A "Media Center PC" sounds like your best option, they're inexpensive for what you get. You could always add-on a TV tuner card to a normal computer, but in my experiences this is more hassle than it's worth since most of the programs and drivers that utilize the TV card are buggy and poorly made.

I would suggest you get a TV tuner card installed in ur PC and then you can switch over to your computer or TV anytime you want.

u should buy a PC with the Monitor (two in one) which is work as monitor and TV same time, U dont have to buy extra TV Tunner card for ur PC.
sell ur prvs old TV to get some money back.

Also AV ports on it - sometimes on graphics card or may be o TV tuner card. You should spend more than £500 nowadays
