My brother was extremely shy until his 25th birthday. He moved to a new town, got a new job. He left his old life behind, he has tons of friends, & I almost did'nt believe he was my little brother anymore. Just do what you can & good luck.

Oh yes I was so shy that I would hide like an ostrich to avoid conversations. It was to the point where I would get literally sick to my stomach. I got a couple of jobs in which I had no other choice to speak out in public. Now I am not shy anymore and it helped a lot.

Yeah - I became an emergency doctor. Weeks and weeks and months and months of having to talk to lots of wierd people got me over it.
Actually, I had to sit down and make a conscious decision to change this thing about myself. Being so introverted was a problem. It took a lot of time and a bit of neurolinguistic programming to sort things out.
