He shouts so when your in the kitchen making a cup of tea during the adverts that you can hear cillit Bang. Thats why adverts have a louder volume then tv shows. (It was said in the news yesterday that adverts are louder than tv shows)
Also he prob an annoying guy lol And who cleans pennys anyway???????

lol, I've been doing a bit of cleaning with some Cilit Bang this morning - it's bloody good stuff!!! The reason behind him shouting is that the viewer is meant to pay more attention if the volume is louder. It's a ploy a lot of big advertisers do (although very subtle at times) to grab our attention. The next time you watch prime time TV just try and take notice of the volume change when the adverts come on .... it's very cleverly done!

Oh Dear God!!! I asked a similar question about him months ago and I cant believe that someone from the Cilit Bang company hasnt seen this site and read these opinions and gotten rid of the irritating oik! Seriously, maybe he is deaf himself and doesnt realise he is shouting but I still want to shove his Cilit Bang where the sun dont shine.

No idea - to get attention I guess, and let's face it everyone knows the ad so it must be working on some level!
It even sounds like the women on the adverts hate him - one says 'yes Barry' in a really patronising voice when he's doing his infamous 'old penny' test!
My boss quite often introduces himself as Barry Scott, doing the 'HI - I'M BARRY SCOTT' shout as he does it, quite often gets a laugh (but I'm sure most people are just thinking 'you idiot' to themselves)

Barry Scott (real name Neil Burgess) shouts because he is doing his best to play the part of the cheesy infomercial character and so make his catchphrases more catchy so people would repeat it in an ironic way. It was all a very clever viral marketing scheme and the fact that we are talking about it now proves that.

Because they're trying to imitate American ads-which are effctive, but unfortunately not over here!!They just annoy us.
I reckon we start a petition to get the ad banned!!!Haha....it just makes me want to throw something at the tv-I swear if i ever see the guy on the street I'm gonna walk straight upto him & start shouting at him,see how he likes it!!!!

Oh and it makes me less inclined to buy the product-since I want to launch a bottle of it across the supermarket when I see it!!

I hate that advert as well I have to turn it over as soon as it comes on. Not sure why he feels the need to shout though.

Every time that ad comes on, I have to switch over. Just can't bare him, shouting at me.

Maybe he was nervous when he made the 1st ad and was hyped up on caffeine and now he has to shout in the rest of the ads
