What do you normally like to watch? This is like asking "what kind of movie should I watch?" there's way too many genre to simply generalize.
Despite this, for something all-around and very short (as in less than 13 episodes or just a movie) I would suggest Ah! My Goddess (think chick flick), El Hazard OVA's (fantasy-adventure), Pretear (magic girl), or Crest of the Stars (science fiction).

Well there is Fate/Stay Night, Pet Shop of Horrors, Trigun (I think it had a little over 40 so it isn't too bad), the original Samurai X (Roroni Kenshin) OAV, Onegai Teacher and Onegai Twins, Ai Shiteru Beibi.

If you like gothic horror and/or the magical girl genre, you should check out Vampire Princess Miyu! There was a 4-episode OAV and a 24-pisode TV series. Both are good.

The anime is 25 episodes long and is supplemented with Christmas and Spring movies and the Love Hina Again OVA.
The story is a comedy of the shÅnen genre about a clumsy young man with an unparalleled amount of personal drive despite having horrible luck. After failing to get into Tokyo U (the college of his dreams), he visits his grandmother's onsen only to discover it has been turned into a girls dorm.
After his grandmother gives him the deed to the building, he has the tough job of being landlord, studying to get into Tokyo U, and dealing with the girls living there, who never pass up an opportunity to humiliate him.
Its funny & super funny. :)

You could also watch its other series (which have a lot of more episodes), but don't worry, all of its episodes are stand alone episodes so you wouldn't feel left behind if you watch it in the middle.
And since you are currently sick, its dose of humor probably will make you laugh a lot.

GAnTZ...!!deffinitely a cool anime...but,, tis is a shonen type of anime...do not know whether it suites 4 gurlZ...
PatLabor maybe...I really love'em...those labors just so cool that maybe the designs were one of a kind...
