toff,

I've read your other questions and I have no reason to doubt what you state here.

How very, very sad to see a post like this...I hope freedom comes to your people soon, with or without U.S. action.

My heart goes out to you and those who believe as you do.

The American people are with you. We are concerned about the government that might follow. We would hope it would be (a) what the Iranian people want and (b) dedicated to liberty at home and friendly relations abroad.

As a former soldier, I believe a land attack in Iran would be a bad idea because the terrain is difficult and easily defended. I anticipate, if necessary , aerial strikes against government and military targets, including especially suspected nuclear weapons development sites (which may be deep underground, leading to other difficulties).

I was 15 in 1979 and until then had wanted to visit Iran. It seemed so beautiful in the National Geographic Magazine pictures.

I understand your frustration, and I'm very sorry. I've spoken to MANY Iranians, and they all say that they want the Ayatollah and Ahmadinejad GONE.
However, what happens if the US DOES step in to help? Then, when the FIRST Persian and/or the FIRST US soldier is killed, the war protesters will come out in full force, and the rest of the world will continue to hate us. Perhaps their hatred will even double.

No, thanks. I'm sure if the Iranian people started their OWN rebellion, and asked for our help, we would come in. But until such a time, I'm sorry to say the Iranians/Persians are on their own.

However, my thoughts and prayers are with the people of Iran. My heart aches for them.

Iran And the USA were great friends, the Persian people are a great people. Too bad the Shah took too much for granted and raped your country. Too bad Jimmy Carter did not have the leadership ability to say no to the Shah when he wanted to hide here! Too bad the radicals have destroyed your fine country for 30 years. Too bad we chose to support Saddam as a way to get back at the Ayatollah. I hope your fine people taste freedom soon, I hope nobody gets killed as we rip that little krap government out of the capital!

Weaker governments tend to be oppressive because their iniquity makes them ineffective as leaders without it. I have a feeling this will work out in such a way that you and many other Iranians that I have spoken to will be very happy.

The Iranian people got rid of the Shah by overwhelming numbers. If overwhelming numbers of Iranians want to get rid of Khamenei and Ahmadinejad, it will get done. Change the constitution.

I have been saying that for a long time. The Iranian people are good people. You guys just have bad leadership and he's corrupted by the radical Islamists.

I hope there can be peace between us.

Trust me, you do not want the usa style democracy.

The core values are lies, greed, deceit, moral evil
and crime. Fight to the last man or booby trapped toyota pick up you have, if Bush the decider decides again to kill a few hundred thousand people.
