Sometimes if the female is lucky. Unfortunately, there aren't many guys that will own up to their responsibility. If he doesn't come around and help willingly or whatever, you could always get him for child support. He has to help in some shape or form, even if it's paying for child support.
I wish you the best of luck.

it happened to me, and no, he never came back. I have no idea where he is. make sure you slap him with a maintenance claim as early as you can before he disappears for good. I didn't and regret it so much because my daughter starts pre school next year and I can't afford it, and can't find the father! If he does come back that's great for the child, providing he's loving, not abusive. But my advise would be to be very weary if he does come back. he didnn't love you enough to support you when the going got tough- is that the kind of man you or your child deserve? Please don't give the child his surname, in doing so you'll lose all your rights over the child should he decide he wants it. And I know it's tough being a single mom, but I stuck to my guns and now have the most amazing boyfriend who loves my daughter as if she was his own, I'm so glad I didn't grab the first guy who came along out of desperation. Good luck and God bless you and your precious child. Be strong ok?

Some of them will step up
but as I am finding out sometime you better off befriend a dog/wolf than a man
man can be will jacka*s, they will never step up to the plate
and do the right thing no matter what
so don't foul yourself if you are pregnant by a jackas*s just make up your mind right now that the baby is yours alone
that way you will not be disappointed
Goodluck

I'll be honest with you...Some do and some don't. When I was pregnant, I thought my relationship with my boyfriend wouldn't last. But we're closer now than ever. There are so many emotions involved in pregnancy (in men too) so don't worry and don't stress yourself. Just hope and pray that everything works out for your relationship.

If someone had balls enough to ditch me after getting me pregnant, you bet there's no chance ever he'd be trying to raise my son/daughter. I'd fight tooth and nail and get full custody. While gaining all of his money in child support. :P That'll show anyone to try and do that to me. :P

most of the time they don't. But when you start needing financial help raising this child some men do step up to the plate.

yah but i wouldnt take him back if i were you because you went through the whole pregnancy by yourself then your independant and you dont need him if he was a real man he would of stuck by you in the first place and it takes a real man to be a father
