im am staying in dublin for the weekend everything is booked but i was wondering if i could take my laptop with me. because they have a wireless conetion in the hotel

Yes you can but you may have to take it out and switch it on to show that it is working. My tip would be to make sure it is charged in case this happens to you.

Yes of course as part of your hand baggage, but you have to take it out and have it scanned on its own through the x-ray (scanning) machines.
