if there's a cable going to the back of your modem and it about the same thickness as a phone line then you have dsl... or if its a thick black cable about 6mm to 8mm thick then you have cable

You aint got T4 gomer! If you connect thru a phone line, you have DSL! If you connect thru your cable, you have cable!

to find out the Internet connection click on my network places then click on view network connection then click on broadband then click on connect.
