He does not have a chance, but if it is true it would be called "karma". I will pray for Mrs. Edwards to beat this illness.

I am not a fan of Edwards. Or lawyers. I know that Edwards made his fortune with a false case against a fine doctor, and got a huge fee, multi-millions, and I'd never vote for him.
You, sir, are absolutely out of line to seem to enjoy his wife's predicament. Your question/statement is heartless and, maybe, evil. I don't use the word lightly.
Also, it makes no sense, tho this is a small point---if Edwards' wife were to die before the election he could well get sympathy votes.
I will pray for Elizabeth Edwards' health and for your sick soul. And I'm hoping that you get THREE of the world's largest hemherroids and have sandpaper for your toilet paper.

It's not often I miss the Thumbs Down feature for questions but that is a rather unkind thing to say. Whatever one's views on the man's politics many people will, I am sure, take a moment today to think of them and wish Mrs Edwards well.

While you call yourself a patriot you are obviously a cad. Is there nothing that you can respect in an opponent but his bullet between your narrow eyes?
Edwards has spent years in public service, fighting for what he believes in. He has worked his way through the ranks of social activists, going to endless meetings and sitting on interminable committees in an attempt to achieve the America he envisions.
Like many political people both Republican and Democrat he has spent years working long and often unpaid hours in that effort. We owe all these honest people our gratitude.
Without men and women like Edwards, McCain, the Clintons and the Doles, the United States could not function. Their upward struggle through the political lump creates a core of committed public servants who know how the system works, and try to keep it running.
Without those people we would have no choice but men like George Bush, whose experience in government is so bad he still doesn't know how to achieve consensus, and whose ignorance of its need has damaged the United States enormously.
Your lack of understanding the role of men like Edwards in the system demonstrates your ignorance. Your lack of compassion for a man losing his lover confirms your lack of manners.
I will think of you in November 2008. The anger and disgust you will feel after your fellow citizens repudiate your ungenerous and unamerican attitudes will make the Democratic sweep even more rewarding.

No matter how you feel about lawyers, your comment is cruel.
They already lost a son in a car crash. If she passes from cancer, she will leave behind three children. Two of them are under 10 years old. Her name is Elizabeth. She deserves the same basic respect you would give any other human being, if you are capable of that.
And, by the way, God ( if s/he exists ) doesn't give a rat's u-know-what about politics.

Another brainwashed republican I assume you are? Another member of the flock that can't think for themselves.....
She's not dying. She has a medical condition that is treatable. Just like diabetes is treatable. Just because someone has cancer does not mean death!
Get your facts straight before asking any more stupid and erroneous questions!

Look I don't care much for John Edwards myself, but taking shots at his dying wife is just tasteless and rude.
The reason that we shouldn't elect John Edwards is becuase of his inexperience and nothing more.

Edwards is a good man and if God wants him not to be president then it is for a reason. Let's not get nasty about this because Edwards is now living with life and death not a lousy election. I don't care if you are a Democrat or a Republican....feel for Edwards and pray for his wife to beat this disease.
