I found that a teething ring or toy that you can freeze or that moved helped. My Son also had 3/4 teeth come in at a time. Ouch!

Rub a small amount of infant teething gel onto the affected gum area with a clean finger and gently massage it into the gums. Some of these contain a mild local anaesthetic to dull the pain. Alternatively, use infant liquid paracetamol (e.g. Calpol). Your child may benefit from a homeopathic remedy such as chamomilla. . A chilled teething ring may distract the child whilst helping to soothe their sore gums. . Chewing on hard biscuits, frozen bananas or chilled raw carrot can help Apply a little petroleum jelly or aqueous cream around the mouth and chin to prevent soreness from excessive dribbling

Pain relievers (like Ambasol) are usually okay, especially if you and your baby aren't getting any sleep, but check with your pediatrician if there's a history of allergies in your family.

Put a damp (not wet) baby washcloth in the freezer for about fifteen minutes. When it's cold, but not hard, let the baby suck on it.

Get two pacifiers, soak one in ice water and keep switching them.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

PS: Three and a half months is too young for pain medication like Tylenol (unless it's given by a doctor first), solids are an obvious choking hazard (especially frozen!), and teething toys are usually too hard for for the really little guys. Keep your eye out for some really soft ones.

Get a teething rid and put it in the fridge. Let is get nice and cool and let him gum that for a little bit. That will help with the itchness and the pain. If he is running a temp (some children do) children tylenol is great.
If the teething ring isn't helping use ambesol. It will numb the gums and do away with any pain for a little bit.

if you buy ambesol get baby orajeal instead. but the best thing in the world is teething tablets and a teether or cold rag. But i swear by the tablets . My son would calm down significantly after he took them within like ten minutes. Also try giving some infant tylenol but follow the recommended dosing and yes it can be used in conjuncition with teething tablets

Oh that's mean.
The teething I mean.

Pediatritians usually prescribe something numbing you can rub on.
When the child gets older it becomes easier because you can start giving them babies tylenol and those rubber chewing rings they can chew with their gums to relieve pain. Often it even helps if you freeze them for a little while.

I'm not quite sure what to do for 3 1/2 month old baby though. Other than asking a doctor.

good luck to you and your boy.

I had a baby, and i did what most of the Indians here do, they tie a small tablet kind of stuff with black thread around the neck, like a chain, (This stuff is easily available in any medical store in India) just check out, it keeps the teeth growth easy and painless.

There are a few things you can do...Baby Motrin works WONDERS!!! The Motrin (ibuprofen) takes down the swelling and relieves the pain too! Also, some babies like to chew on a clean washcloth (skip using the fabric softener) that's been wet down and frozen. (You may want to only wet down 1/2 of the cloth though, as some babies don't like holding onto the cold cloth) Good luck!!! You'll both make it through...I promise!!! :)

teething tablets are AWSOME
you can buy them at any grocery store with a baby section this includes walmart (grocery section)

they disolve immediatly (they are teeny tiny so if they dont dissolve immediatly they are small enough to be easily swallowed and dont taste and arent difficult to not get bitten giving them

they work immediatly
they are made speciafically for teething

and they take like 4 or 8 hours to wear off where as ambesol and orajel takes like 2 hours or 1 bottle and it's gone and you can only give it every so often where as the tablets you can give as needed whenever needed

Hey I am going threw theething too with my daughter. She is 6months now and has been slobbering like a saint bernard for about 4 months now. Infact her chin got chapped really really bad from all the slobber. I finally just handed her a wash cloth, it allows her to chew on somthing and helps controll all that slobber!! Good luck!!!
