When you hold your hand in a fist then try to put your index finger up by itself without holding any of the other fingers down with your thrum. Your pinky will always come up as well.

Actually your index finger is the same as your pointer finger, I think you're referring to your ring finger...and it does it because they're connected further up in your hand either by a ligament or tendon or something.

Everyone is different, basically the same reason why people are ambidextrous. It is something that is usually from birth to death but it is possible to learn to control your other hand or individual fingers better. My index finger goes up perfectly without any other fingers :)

As for the ring finger, I think it has to do with the nerves/tendons.. The ring and pinky finger basically share the same nerve.

Whenever I try to keep my pinky down, my joints kind of pop(like the pinky has to be up to allow the room for the ring finger joint to move up as well. Kind of a creepy feeling.. dont plan on trying anymore to figure out what else it might be :D

Thanks a lot. My co worker just gave me the raised eyebrow "What the heck are you doing" look because I was trying this. My pinky didn't raise up. ?
