I do not know either, but usually stories that resemble each other so closely from so many different cultures, have a basis in fact. It may have lived in the past, it may have a few survivors left now, or it may not exist at all. I would have to say it has a high probability of having existed in the past. Too many stories, by too many cultures for there not to be something. Don't let the lack of skeletons be used as a reason to disbelieve. I have lived in bear country most of my life, and while I have seen plenty of bears I have never seen the skeleton of one, nor do I know anyone that has Same with the big cats. The only person I now to have seen one is a biologist that was tracking the bear when it died with a radio collar.

I too am in Bigfoot country, the stories told around here by old folk, hunters, and even the department of fish and game are all chilling as very similar to each other. One person claims to have had a cement table moved as a nightly ritual... with footprints anr hair left behind as evidence, the dep. of fish.... claimed at once to have shot one, then covered it up. Then suddenly they had animal biologists testing hair samples that they could not identify... not human, primate or any other known animal. The biologists were setting traps. Chicken livers hanging from a tree... now I don't think bigfoot is stupid enough to fall for that one.
I say yes, I believe

What are the undisputed facts about the bigfoot / sasquatch mystery?
It's a fact that for more than 400 years people have reported seeing large, hair-covered, man-like animals in the wilderness areas of North America.
It is a fact that sightings of these animals continue today. Real or not, these reports are often made by people of unimpeachable character.
It is a fact that, for over seventy years, people have been finding, photographing, and casting sets of very large human-shaped tracks. Most are discovered by chance in remote areas. These tracks continue to be found to this day.
It is a fact that the cultural histories of many Native American and First Nation peoples include stories and beliefs about non-human "peoples" of the wild. Many of these descriptions bear a striking resemblance to the hairy man-like creatures reported today.
These are some of the facts. There is, however, much disagreement as to what these facts mean.
To many, these facts, taken together, suggest the presence of an animal, probably a primate, that exists today in very low population densities. If true, this species, having likely evolved alongside humans, became astonishingly adept at avoiding human contact through a process of natural selection.
To others, these same facts point to a cultural phenomenon kept alive today through a combination of the misidentification of known animals, wishful thinking, and the deliberate fabrication of evidence.
The BFRO, and its members, take the former view.

I would say Bigfoot certainly existed, but the chances of them surviving nowadays in some areas where they have been claimed to be seen is slim.
However scientists believe (with good reason) that a vast number of species are still unknown to us, and if Bigfoot was as intelligent as it appears then they may very well have the ability to survive and keep from interacting with humanity except in the rare cases.
I would say most sightings are not real though.

I do believe that it exists. I'm a Native woman as well. I cannot ignore my culture. So many people know that this creature exists but maybe not in the way many think it does.
And as long as scientists don't figure it out I'll be happy. Wouldn't want another creature hunted to extinction.
EDIT: I wanted to post an edit saying that I find ConRad's post offensive. It is horribly ignorant to assume that Native people all over are mislabeling an animal because they don't know a monkey from a human? what? Native people are intellegent human beings....

it type of feels that alot of human beings ask this squestion so i'm going to answer the comparable: individually I do have faith that the loch ness creature might nevertheless be alive someplace in spite of each little thing we've got here across bones. maximum probable the so observed as creature is a pleisosaurus. They have been historic dinousars extra effective than whales and so some distance all the meant"comments" describe this creature. As a quickly to be zoologist i think that this type of creature ought to exist. I mean verify out the large squid; no person believed that it easily existed till somebody got here across one ineffective on the shore. the reason we could not discover them is via the fact they stay so deep down interior the sea. whether i think if nessie did in certainty exist it does not roam a lake yet quite the dark depths of the sea. in spite of each little thing the sea is like outer area there remains plenty to be got here across . yet another ingredient: all the sightings so some distance have been from those that made it a hoax via taking fake pictures If it relatively existed it does not come out to in basic terms a undeniable team of human beings.maximum probable it would stay interior the depths of the sea I do have faith that bigfoot could be real. One because of the fact there are a number of things we've not got here across yet or documented. 2 if huge foot relatively is alive someplace it would be hiding out of its own will it would've even shaved all of its hair off so it ought to slot in this society. the project with Bigfoot is that maximum those that declare they observed it are not scientists or zoologists they are generic accepted those that the two might desire to make themselves generic to make a rapid greenback or that no-one believes. Its the comparable ingredient because of the fact the loch ness. individually I do have faith that bigfoot existed yet there are in basic terms some left. In a pair of years they might grow to be extinct possibly they already are. one ingredient it fairly is definite although is that the existence of creatures like bigfoot and the loch ness would be continued to be disputed for alot extra years yet to return

only in some gullible imaginations, just like gods, devils,, angels, demons, Nessie, UFO's, Et's, dragons, etc. All of the evidence is fake. I saw shows about that on Discovery. One man said some tracks could not piossibly be faked. Then, another man showed how to fake them. So-called scalps of such creatures are identified as common animals. There is no convincing evidence to support tyhe existence of Bigfoot.

It is my understanding that scientists have not classified an organism living today that resembles Big Foot. And rumors of Big Foot have been around for a long while -- long enough for scientists to classify it if they found it was real.
I believe Big Foot is a myth.
