I think that people look for opinions more than anything.
Either that or they're looking for "home remedies" to their problems.
Some people really are dumber than a sack of rocks here though.

A lot of the people asking questions here have a lot of time on
their hands and ask ridiculous things just to see what responses they get. Some deliberately ask racist or sexist
questions just to rile people. But some people ask questions
because they need real advice from people who have gone
thru similar situations. A lot of people don't have the family
and friends that can support them thru hard times, that network has broken down or disappeared. Sometimes they
just want to know that what they are going thru can be endured, that others have been in the same place and survived. You can't find that kind of help with a search engine.

It depends on the question you ask and type of answer you want. Sometimes even a 'factual' question can have be worthy of other opinions or 'takes on it' Yes some people state the obvious, but some are genuinely looking for fresh opinions on questions, not just search engine based answers.

Honey, a study was done and it was found that over 60% of the people here are actually retarded. You're very perceptive.

you're an idiot
like all those people who say "google it"
it IS easier to ask a question, and the answers will be tailored to the specific question, no searching needed

Thanks, but I am looking for personal experience on YA. And you are here why?
Besides search engines are full of ads.
