What Neutogrena product lines have you tried? I have been using SkinClearing Oil-Free Makeup for several years without issue. Though it does have a habit of wearing thin after 8 hours, I think it's a fair trade off to helping keep acne under control. The instructions for Neutrogena's foundation also suggest applying a thin layer to skin 1-3 times a day to help aid in acne treatment. To add to the color and avoid multiple applications of foundation, I also use loose powder from Revlon.

If you haven't tried Revlon's SkinLight products, you might want to look into it. I find that it blends well and also works well in conjunction with Neutrogena.

The most important thing to consider when using any foundation is to properly clean your face daily. Be sure that you are actually removing the foundation. Even if you can't see the remains of your make-up at the end of the day, you need to take the time to wash your face.

Clinique foundation and concealing products have a high percentage of water content so they're, in that sense, less oily than other products.

If you're interested in protecting your skin and having coverage with longevity, you should invest in a good non-oil based primer.

Primer is a gel-like moisturizer which provides a good, clean base for the application of makeup, it deters dirt and oil away from the pores and will lessen irritation caused by heavier skin products.

Apply this about 5 minutes before applying foundation/concelaing products and you should find your skin less irritated and your coverage should last longer.

I recommend NARS Oil-free Primer, stay away from MAC products and many anti-ageing bases (i.e. some Estee Lauder) as these have high oil content.

HTH !

(PS - Don't forget to always remove your makeup before bed!)

I love Clinique. Their sheer foundation is great. I heard the same thing about Bare Minerals. People either love it or they hate it. I always liked Clinque too. My skin has been good lately so Ive been using Loreal Bare Naturales Powder foundation. Its mineral also, but its awesome coverage. It refracts the light and brightens your skin.

Max Factor seems to work for me - it was originally created as the pan-cake makeup for celebrities. You can mix different foundations to make one that's exactly the consistency and shade desired, once you find some that work with your skin. Cosmetic counters will often give you testers or samples to try before you buy the larger size - if your budget isn't that large, you can buy one type at a time at Longs or Walgreens - they have a very forgiving makeup return policy.
