I live in button down shirts for work and I hate the wrinkles and sloppy look at the end of the day. I use ALOT of starch but I can never get the crisp, dry cleaning look. Does anyone know any tips for getting the military starched, stiff look at home?

before ironing the starched shirt, sprinkle/spray some /very little water all over the shirt, roll up the shirt, and keep it for 15/20 seconds ,the little water will loosen the starch, now use heavy iron, the water will evaporate

No mater what you try, you will never get that commercial starch. We use a powdered starch that is added to the shirts in the final rinse. They are pressed with specially designed machines. Most cleaners can't even do this right. You will have to do a bit of looking and try different cleaners to find one. I have customers that drive once a week from an hour a way to bring me there shirts for heavy starch. They come for the same reason as you. Also make sure the shirts are 100% oxford cotton. They come out the best. Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers come out the best in my opinion.
