"Military men are just dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy" - Henry Kissinger
I don't think yawl realize Bush has no intention of ever pulling out. This war is just too good for him and his buddies. The Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Tudors, Vatican and of course the Clintons and Cheney. Not only does the war make them obscene sums from the making and selling of arms, but from the nonexistant cleanups as well.
This group is trying to establish a settlement for the NWO in the middle East. Iraq is excellent because it has even more, and finer, oil than Saudi arabia. They are concerned about supplies with China and India growing as well. This is why they use bombs with DU that is also killing American boys. The DU in the waters and soil of Afghanistan and Iraq will kill the people off. Slow genocide by mutation. Does it become more evil than this?
How does diplomacy take care of this?

It appears the global elite is dividing its minions into two "house teams" again. The last time this happened we had the Fascist-Communist slugfest called World War Two. The same satanic cabal controlled both sides and picked Germany to take the fall.
This time, the U.S., Britain and the "coalition of the willing" are on one side. On the other are France, Germany, Russia and China. The centre of global power is moving to China, Europe and Russia. It will be over Iran and control of Middle East oil.
America will find itself increasingly isolated and vilified as a result of the Iraq war. I suspect the hidden agenda is to bring down the world's last superpower; to replace the UN with a new instrument of "world government"; to kill a lot of people, and to wean Americans off democracy and their high standard of living.
The Bush doctrine is grounded in power; legality and legitimacy are decorations. We are going to be in such a fix when this war is over, or before this war is over. Our grandchildren's grandchildren are going to be paying for this war.
Before World War Two, a faction of the British elite and the Bushes built up Hitler. This was known as the "policy of appeasement." After Hitler fell into the trap of attacking Poland, they did a "sleight of hand" and replaced the accommodating Chamberlain with the defiant Churchill.
Iraq is a similar trap. The United States has squandered the sympathy and good will it earned on Sept 11. The images of the World Trade Centre have been replaced in the world's mind by the explosions in Baghdad.
The US comes across as a bully too cowardly to pick on anyone its own size. Notch this victory up beside its thrashing of Grenada, Panama and Serbia. The damage to America's moral authority is incalculable. After this war, who will have sympathy for Americans if Chinese atomic bombs rain down on Los Angeles and New York?
For almost 100 years, the American leadership class has belonged to an international cabal that is determined to dissolve all human loyalties, including the nation state, and establish a global tyranny. George Bush, who is part of this cabal, has led the American people into a trap.
Who in their right mind would deliberately alienate 1.3 billion Muslims? Of course Hussein was a bad man but this was not the motive. The U.S. is acting as gofer for the Zionists and the oil cartels, two leading parts of the cabal. They will come out ahead while Americans will foot the bill and take the brunt of Muslim indignation.
Can the U.S. even count on Israel? At his trial, Israeli Spy Jonathon Pollard was called "the greatest traitor in the history of the United States" Pollard, an American Jew, stole every worthwhile intelligence secret we have. In the year prior to his arrest in Nov. 1986, Pollard transmitted "over 360 cubic feet of top secret paper to Israel," his trial was told.
Can you see the pattern? Russia and China belong the cabal and are being used to subjugate the United States. China is to be the new hub because its people are already used to tyranny. In another parallel with the past, American industry is relocating to China and other low-cost countries. At least 3.3 million US white-collar jobs and $136 billion in wages will shift there by 2015. Similarly, Wall Street invested heavily in Nazi Germany in the 1930's. Standard Oil (through subsidiary I.G. Farben), General Motors, Ford, ITT and IBM were mainstays of the Nazi war machine.
In conclusion, while Americans are distracted by jingoism and jiggle, they are being set up for a nasty fall. The leadership class has already "left the building" as it were. The end of the Iraq war will find the United States isolated and reviled. As the Bush cabal tries to push its advantage, it will come into conflict with China and other nuclear powers. A major confrontation will ensue and an overextended US will be humbled. Americans will take a greatly reduced place in a new world order.
Americans should direct their anger not at their country but against their political and cultural elite, which is corrupt, cowardly, and traitorous.

The most diplomatic thing for the USA to do right now is let someone else try talking to the Iraqis. I think they don't trust Uncle Sam to be an honest broker.
It could be that there were no WMDs, or that they had no connection to 9/11 beyond racial profiling. It could be that sixty years of propaganda has convinced them that anybody who supports Israel is their enemy.
Given that the region has a culture of political assassination and terrorism dating back to the Hasheeshans, it is doubtful that there is any chance they will talk with the US.
That leaves the US with the choice between fighting a war with no definable objectives, or leaving Iraq and letting the people determine what they want for themselves. Eventually will get tired of the former and get out.
The good news is that, once we let the Vietnamese do the same, they did pretty well. Maybe eventually the Iraquis, too, will forgive us.

Yes there could be a Diplomatic Solution but all depends on how far Neocons are interested for this solution. These guys are interested in chaos so that it gives them a chance to stay in Iraq. You should read what Mr.Hersh of New York Times is writing about and how NewCons are helping AlQueda under the table.I hope that it is not true but unfortunately it looks to be true.

We should be sitting down now rather than sling verbal barbs across a table like children!
Our problem is we need a Special Envoy! Sec of State Rice just doesn't cut the mustard, and her performance is woeful. I believe Donald Trump when he says "She is probably a nice enough woman. but she has never brought back one deal from anywhere"
This war has been over militarily for a long time, and General after General has told Bush that! He has no capacity to listen!

I find it interesting (and a little disturbing) that some of your answerers seem to think that *everyone* causing trouble in Iraq (except the Americans, of course) are the murderous extremists.
I think there *is* a diplomatic solution, and that it will cost far fewer American lives. To answer your question of "when," I think the sooner the better. But I also fear that this administration believes any form of compromise (including diplomacy) is an unforgivable weakness, and that we don't have to follow the same rules as anybody else, so I have little hope of seeing this diplomatic solution happening anytime soon.

You're right. The milatary "solution" isn't working, but neither would a diploatic effort. The way to end American involvement in Iraq is really simple. Put a uniform on both of George's daughters, stick a rifle in each of their pudgy little hands and send them off to Iraq. We'd be out of there that afternoon.

We've tried, Kelly! As the fine General said, we need to get all these parties to join in the governing of Iraq. That's how democracies work.
They have been CONSTANTLY invited to be a part of the government. In fact, they ARE a part of the government.
In example, the Interior Ministry folks are part and parcel with the Shiite militia's we hear about daily. And the Sunni insurgents are one in the same with the Health Ministry.
It's a mess, kelly. It's not as simple as inviting them to talk. They're part of the government NOW.
It would be like DHS (Department of Homeland Security) fighting the Justice Department every day with foot soldiers.

We're doing it, now. Even down to the BCT and below level. We are even conducting diplomacy at the Battalion level.
Again, I can only speak for my area of Baghdad, but we have been very successul in getting Sunnis and Shiites to come together and work together. They are doing it even though the Militia and Sunni insurgent groups continue to threaten them. These community leaders feel that peace is that important.
IMHO, this war will not be won at the strategic level. It's going to be won at the Battalion level. We are getting the people to change the attitude of their government. Even Al-Maliki has realized that and is changing his tune.
GEN "P" has the right idea and will be the best thing that has happened for Iraq in 4 years.

How can we win militarily when the Demon'crats and Iraqi President ties their hands. The Journalists embedded have to be protected. My son who came back from there in Oct. said a lot of the troops died because they would hesitate for a second worried about what would be said at home for their action in battle. You can't hesitate for even a second when the enemy is out to get you. We blame the Demon'crats, and media for many deaths of our soldiers.

The first "diplomatic" move must be for us to tell them we will be "out" by __________(specific date). That seems to be the only impetus that will spur their move to independence. Then, we can promise them the help of experts in the art of diplomacy to settle the internal rifts. As long as our military is present, they will stall the "peace process."
