Software package is usually a bundle of programs offered by a single company. I came across this the other day. I wanted the Google toolbar, and most places it was available it came in a package with other Google items for checking this and that on the web...mostly alerts.

Software product, is a program as a marketable thing...I suppose it implies that the item is being sold?

Software application is something used with another program, it really doesn't operate on its own.

Software of course, is information fed into a computer, and hardware is machinery that reads it.

A utility is something that helps maintain your computer...or helps a mundane function of your computer work better.

A driver is something that helps the computer find or use a piece of software.
