"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so it is what ever we would like it mean.

Let me answer your question with a question: What's the meaning of ugly?

You have no doubt seen Ugly Betty or at least the various Promos.

Just because a person isn't the classic, current day, vision of all but anorexic are they not beautiful in another way?

Beauty last century was a very different idea to now. Women had to have curves and be great company.

Prior to that there was the boy shape with no hips or bust and then before that the voluptuous woman was considered beautiful. If she didn't have rolls of fat she was unacceptable.

Beauty really is only skin deep, regardless of how much skin she has to display.

Try looking a bit deeper and you often find a 'Swan' beneath the supposed 'Ugly Duckling'.

In the end beauty is what YOU find attractive.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. Beauty is different for everyone. A guy started talking to me one time in a line at the theater. I figured he was trying to pick me up and he was nice enough so I talked to him for a long while. You see when I first started talking to him I thought he was ugly. Big, and kinda gangly, red hair, freckles, the whole bit, but within a half an hour of talking with this guy I thought he had transformed into this amazingly handsome fella. Something about him, must have been his personality, transformed him before my very eyes into this wonderful person who was part of my life for awhile. And I swear, if I didn't see him for a year or so and then got together i again saw that ugly guy walking up, but two minutes in, here was my handsome fella again...What if I had not wanted to talk to him because he was ugly? I wouldn't have seen his inner beauty transformation...... I am still amazed by it to this day.......

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, mans concept of beauty has been adulterated by advertising media, cosmetics and perverted views of the moneyed, strong and mighty. We can be beautiful in our own terms especially if we believed in ourself and not enslaved by societal standards that prevent us being the best that we can be.Aove all beauty transcend physical.
