You Would First Off Want to Purchase the Proper MotherBoard With a P4 Slot, most P3 are Either Socket 7 or PGA 370 or mabye the P2 Cartridge Style Slots...

Either Way You'd Be Building an Entirely New Computer...

Youd have to open the case & throw out lots of hardware such as mobo, processor, probably the ram & more than likely you're hard drive will be out of date with all the wrong drivers installed on it once you bring the system back up. You'll wish you had bought a new system unless you really know what you're doing. I've been fighting with driver conflicts since win 95 so I just gutt out the drivers & OS along with the hardware!

The main thing is to see if your motherboard can support a P4 cpu. If it can, then all you have to do is remove the existing one and install the new one.

More than likely though, the motherboard won't so you'd have to get a new motherboard. This may also require new RAM and CPU fan (if needed). You need to make sure the powersupply has enough poser and the correct connections for the new board too.

That would involve buying a new Pentium 4 processor that will fit in your motherboard. Seek professional help.. by the sounds of it, you're not very computer literate. =)

you need to change the smps as you need an atx compatible one (20 or 24 PIN SMPS)
then you need a new mother board compatible with pentium 4. after that you need a p-4 compatible processor. and dont forget that you will also need to change ram bcuz in pentium 3 machines SD RAM is used and pentium 4 and above use DDR1 and DDR2 ram which ever is compatible with your mother board, hope you find it useful.....

Have a professional upgrade your computer, they will know exactly how to do it. I wouldn't do it myself even if I was highly computer literate.
