Which of these would be worse to lose if you already have it and know what it is like to run, hug, see your loved ones and hear their laughter.
1) your feet
2) your hands
3) your eyesight
4)your hearing.
It's ok to cry as you write this.

I think the worst would to be blind. but at least you could hear giggling and that makes me smile.
The reasoning behind this is because my Buzia(Polish for grandma) is losing her feet due to diabetes and she already has rehumatoid arthritis and myasthenagravia and is pretty much confined to the wheelchair and bed. She can't hold anything because her hands are all gnarled up, and she can't walk because all her joints are worn down, bone on bone, and the last time I hugged her I think i broke her rib.i was telling her that there's worse things to lose than mobility, like her hearing and sight. and so therefore you've been asked this so you can be prepared for when you are faced wiith a similar experience. some of your stories have got me choked up though.

my husband started losing his hearing quite young [mid-30s]. it is frustrating for him. if it is just he and i talking and the surroundings are quiet and he concentrates he can hear most of what i say. but in a group setting, a party, or at a work site, he is lost.
i feel so bad for him as i watch him sitting amongst our friends. he looks so lost, he doesn't get much of the conversation as everyone is yakking at once, and after a while he gives up and is distanced from all of us.
shopping, restaurants, movies are a horrendous situations for him. driving has become too dangerous - he can not hear sirens. he doesn't go for walks alone as he can not hear any of the surrounding noises, ie: traffic, dogs, etc.
he can't hear our little ones when they say 'love you daddy' and it breaks my heart to see him so disheartened.
his hearing loss is such that aids don't help, he lip reads quite well, but most people talk so fast, and don't look directly at you when they speak so its almost impossible to pick up what they are saying. add the various ethnic/regional accents/dialects to that and he is lost!
he is becoming more and more housebound and there is nothing we can do about it.

All four would be devastatingly difficult to live without..
But i think the worst would have to be eye sight.
eye sight comes in close with hearing though..
specially if you have never heard before, because then you wouldn't be able to talk either..
And losing your hands would be terrible, not to be able to touch the one you love, not only that but you would need someone constantly doing everything for you, you wouldn't be able to pick up anything..
feet would also be so hard to live without..having to be in a wheelchair all the time :(

My eyesight because in my family my grandmother went blind, my dad is headed
that way and I was told as a kid I could lose my eyesight. I don't believe it as they
have come a long way in changing things and helping. I treasure the gift of sight.
I can see my husband, children, grandchildren, friends, family, church family, all
that God has created. Sunsets, flowers, trees, water, stars, sun, moon, and the
list goes on. We have a beautiful view from our window and I would miss the
different seasons. I hope that answers your question. Did you make a choice and what was it?

WHERE @ ? Oh I must have missed it.
Sorry I wasn't in my right mind last night when I answered this. I'm so sorry about your grandma. I think I would rather lose my feet. I couldn't stand not seeing my kids faces or hearing them say i love you mommy. I would have to have my hands to hug them. Hopefully I could get some prosthetic feet but if not I could live without them.

Hearing. I don't know what I'd do if I could no longer listen to music or hear a comedy show.
