Try the following authors: J.D. Robb, Michael Connelly, James Patterson (2 different series of books - the Alex Cross books and the Murder Club books), Robert Tannebaum, and of course the original logic and forensics experts - Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple by Agatha Christie. The last two authors are from back in the day, but they stand the test of time.

Patricia Cornwell is really good. I highly recommend her books.
Bones is based on the novels by Kathy Reichs.

you can try crime files:four minute forensics or something like that. i love these books because they give you a bunch of cases that you have to solve, they give you the answers but its really good and each case is about 4 minutes long to read maybe longer to solve but if your a beast, like me you skip the answers until you figure out the answers... but if u suck like my brother, you read the answers its real fun
