I think the DVD may be out sooner than one might think. The studio wants ever more of the kids' money.

I disagree, GOOD movies, like this one will take their sweet time to get onto the shelves. You will just have to wait and see. Someone at each theater will have to decide if it is worth keeping the film on the big screen, I guess. This isn't a long winded opinion, I searched many sites to find that DVD release only = diddly squat, and the release date of the movie openning in theaters.
I think, i'll be watching the shelves too.

I think that sometimes depends on how good the movie is. Some of them show a LOONG time at the theaters if they're doing well, which makes it longer to buy. I remember one movie was replayed after they'd removed it. I could swear it was The Titanic, so it took forever before it was released.
This looks like a good one too, may be awhile before it hits the stores.

according to videota.com...the release of 300 is estimated for August 2007. If you go to the website and sign up...they will notify you when the DVD is ready for order.
Barnes and Noble will do the same...

I don't think a release date has been announced yet, since the movie just came out less than two weeks ago.

I dunno, but I cannot wait. I normally never see movies more than once at the movies...normally I never go to the movies to watch anything....but I've been compelled to watch it every weekend since its been out....When it comes out on DVD you better believe that I'll pre-order it

it has to finish with the theaters first, and as long as it's making money it will not finish at the theaters.. I'd say Nov or dec though.
