If you really want to do this.....get a needle the same size as the post of the ring you are going to put in....sterilize the needle by boiling it in water for five minutes...and as an added precaution put it in rubbing alcohol ..than when you go to handle it make sure you don't touch the area that is going to be going into your skin ...take you ring and soak it also in alcohol ..once you have made the hole put the ring in...... than use like peroxide on it a couple of times a day for a week or so....and move the ring back and forth everyday ..to help keep the hole open....and not to heal over.....and don't take the ring out for a few weeks.....one thing you can do before poking yourself..you can hold ice on the area to kind of numb it..it will help..but I do want to warn you..the lip is a very sensitive area..and it is going to hurt like the devil when you run a needle through it...the ear is bad..but the lip ...well..

truthfully, what I wrote will work..but... If I was you I would pay a few dollars and have it done by professionals.........

1.) become a professional "piercer" legally
2.)if you are not afraid of death, just take a screwdriver and a hammer, bang it staright to your lip or ear.
3.)try it on someone else first.
4.) go to a profesional

to avoid any type of infection you are safer and better off spending a few extra dollars and having it done professionally. don't risk your health by trying to save money. if you really want the piercing, have a pro do it for you ... the RIGHT way!

OuCH! Why not use those sticker type of accessories instead of piercing?

Only very badly. Not to mention very stupidly.
