I have friend who had her first baby. I want to get h er something nice. I don't know what to get her.

Most people make the mistake of giving something that revolves around the baby. Don't. Make the gift personal for the mother and make it all about her having some "me time". Give her something that only she can enjoy, like bath salts, candles, a CD of her favorite artists. Just things that she can enjoy when she has 30-60 minutes for herself.

Try you local florist if they have baby gift baskets or something like that. They usually have brochures available. Hope that helps.

the cutest and most treasured thing to get is this thing where they can mix thing clay like stuff together and put the babies foot prints in and when it dies they ca sit it on the mantel piece. they used to have it t the discovery channel store. i dunno if they still do. te best gifts are personalized so i would go that direction
