The bravest thing I ever done was to jump out in traffic to save a kitten. After I did my cousin looked at me like I was quite stupid. All I could think at the time was it was gonna get hit. I ended up keeping her. And I would do it again!

Being brave from a safe distance is not being brave. I remember the bravest thing I did was when me and my friends were approached by some jackers who wanted to rob us. I gave them trouble and hit this black kid in the eye, and it sparked the rest of my friends to jump in. We gottem good, that'll teach them to walk through Chinatown like they own this place and think they're superior.

Hi!

The bravest thing I've ever done is to stick up to my young son's 'bully' of a teacher!

To cut a long story short, I asked for help with helping my son remember what lessons he had each day and what equipment he needed to bring in each day. He was in year 5 primary school.

I kept telling my son that the teacher had 30 odd other children to see to and so it was important for him to remember everything each day.

This b*tch turned on me and told me that if she had to 'help' me she would have to help everyone else !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was ABSOLUTELY STUNNED and ASTONISHED at this!! Afterall, I was trying to help make HER job easier!!

I ended up having to go and see the Headteacher - who incidentally agreed with the b*tch!!

It ended up that the head of the Governors had to come round to my house and apologise for both of their behaviours. I went to the Local Authority Education Department to tell them what had happened.

Anyway, the outcome of it was this all happened on the Tuesday and by the following Thursday he was in another school.

It would have KILLED me to have thought of my son having to be in this b*tch's company and environment for over six hours every day.

Rumour spread round the school and I was approached by loads of people saying how they supported me, and one Dad in particular said to me 'is she the fat, ugly, ignorant cow that never smiles?' You get the picture? Yeah?

So the bravest thing a Mum can do is stick up for her kids!!

When I did this I felt very empowered and was never so sure in my life that I had done EXACTLY the right thing!

Very good question...I can be brave in the thick of it, sort to speak...I used to work with my late husband, years ago, at a Chemical Plant. I actually had to be one of the ones involved with getting him out of a HCL chemical fog....(basically it was like super intense acid rain and fog)....I didn't think twice, I just "donned" my protective gear and ran in...I would have done the same for anyone...not just my husband...after we got him safely out with only minor injuries....that's when it "hits" you

if you are asking have i ever pushed someone out of the way of a speeding car, or saved someone from drowning, no i haven't.
i have kept a gunman's concentration trained on me and away from customers, but is that brave? i don't think so, i think it is more instinctive. however if being brave means being scared.....then i was bloody brave that day! lol

What springs to mind - having to climb over high, sharp fencing. That galvanised stuff around commercial places. I was able to hang two bits of scaffold ladder on the cross bit, but it was precarious. So sharp that I couldn't even balance myself by touching the stuff. Time stopped for me during that, I would have been nastily impaled had I fallen.

Work in a hostile fire zone, and there is no real 'safe distance'. To me the question defeats the purpose.

My condolances to 'nicemanvery' - you should get a medal!
