Some people use this as a mind game to get what they want, and it usually works. People are only victims of their own fears, doubts, and guilt most of the time, but it's very easy to trick your own mind into thinking that you're a victim of something more, even to the point where you play the victim subconsciously. I've been on both sides of this game before, and it's all too common.

Actually most people think they're victims, thats why they buy insurance. That's why there is so much blaming. Most medication is used because people didn't do anything to create the problem. When the medication doesn't work, they're victims of the drug companies.
I don't think people like to be victims. They are just ignorant. They receive more sympathy when perceived as a victim. Many people would support national health care because we are all victims.

Some people like to play the victim role because it gets them the attention they crave. It also gives them an excuse for everything wrong in their lives As long as they are the victim, then they don't have to take responsibility for their actions or decisions.

They like to twist things around and not take responsibility for their part in the problem. It's a big sign of maturity NOT to take the victim role in a conflict. I was such a "victim" in high school - the whole world was against me... I'm making up for my selfishness now and refuse to feel sorry for myself when things don't go my way.

Because they want to give the blame to others and not take responsibility for their own lives... you know... let other live their life for them... they do not wish to clear the cobwebs in their room and change the draperies and the sofa... even the small vase or furniture that needs to be replaced... because they are comfortable there... they just need someone who will open the window and the door for them to see that there are other things awaiting for their arrival and the beauty of life will unfold... but they have to make a decision for themselves first... ;-)

Because they cannot or will not accept responsibility for their own actions. They also crave the attention it gets them.

One reason is it is fun and the other is it may be true. One most all like and do and the other no-one likes and we all know what that is like.
