how do i do a complete restore on my dell? whcih means completely erase everything off of it?

you will have to do a reformat... just put your Windows or what ever OS you have Cd into your CD ROM drive and when i loads click on reformat (don't forget to save any pic's or videos that you want to keep)

you will have to use the start up disc that you should have got with the computer. if not buy a copy of the operating system you want Eg. Windows XP Home, Professional or vista.

place the disc in and turn off you computer.

upon restating the computer on one of the screens you might be prompted to enter a alternate mode by pressing F12

(Note: The screen might load its self.)

than just run throught the options usually done in an hour.

NOTE: CAN NOT BE REVERSED ONCE DONE ITS DONE!!

First, I doubt you would really want to completely restore a Dell. Dell's are loaded with so much junk when they are purchased, that I typically drop the partitions myself, and reinstall windows from my own disks.

Simply place your windows disk in the CD/DVD cradle, and answer the questions.

before ur system starts up, insert ur OS cd and it will run on the cd, which will give u options on to whether u wanna reformat ur system..select that.
