I am really getting sick & tired of those Hollywood nasty couples going to the developing countries & adopting kids! every loser woman who doesn't want to mess up her body & has enough money goes to Africa or Asia & adopts a child!! isn't that slavery? & the other day at the Oprah show 2 gay couples adopted 6 kids!!! for God's sake!! 6 kids! those 2 men can be gay it's their decision but what the hell have those poor kids done to deserve an abnormal parent? just because they can't say no, or anything is better than the orphanage home they should be treated like that? to me it's just another form of slavery, & they're not even getting paid for it! it breaks my heart. What do you think?

"Oooh, look at me! I'm Angelina and I can adopt 100 children if I want to."
Instead of taking these children from their countries, what are they doing to make these countries better for the children? At least Oprah built a couple of schools.

Slavery would imply that they are not free to leave at any point in their (adult) lives and or forced to do work to pay off debts they will never be able to so in many senses slavery is not really applicable here.

At this point, it's difficult to judge how their kids will turn out - yes, there are many Hollywood brats but there are also Hollywood kids that are perfectly normal. We do know that their economic, medical, and nutritional situation has improved compared to an orphange, while I'm not an expert, I would think their educational and nuturing time is also greater increased so on the surface, if I had to say whether being in an orphange in Africa would be worse than being with Angelie Jolie's nanny? I would say her nanny plus all the other food, heath & economic advantages gives them a greater chance to live longer and then have many more opportunities to choose the life they want at 18 or 21 - including going back to Africa versus staying in an African orphanage until 18 or 21 - that does not gurantee them a vice versa situation.

As for parenting skills, it's impossible for anyone to say from any distance greater than our relatives - look at all those crazy mothers who birthed 4 kids and then killed them - until that moment, everyone presumed these middle class mothers were "normal." So being a birth mother means nothing is the mother is insane ... just as there are great kids (now adults) who grew up with one mom or one dad and others like the Mendez kids who had everything and killed their parents. So, until they are grown or you see actual abuse, it's difficult to say what goes on between closed doors. Some parents are indulgent and end with with obese kids not because they meant to be bad parents but only because they thought food was a loving thing so it's a hard call in terms of how the kids will end up - some kids rebel against parents no matter what and others are obiedent ...
you are free to be against or uncomfortable with celebs adopting kids but it's not 'slavery.'

No... Slavery is when people are captured and forced into work/ labor... Also no one said that the mother had to bare 15 children in order to become free. (They use to do that. A woman could gain freedom after 15 children.)

These kids HOPEFULLY are finding people to love them, provide for them.. I am really torn on the gay issue. As long as people don’t make fun of the children, (which I’d find it hard to believe.) How can you say to a child that you can not be loved, cared for, and given things in life that other people have just because the person wishing to adopt is gay. Then you see people out there that can’t see their own children because of a divorce and the courts do not like the moral beliefs of the banished person. Really a rough time this country is going through…

All I can say is that as long as a child is loved, cared for, provided for, etc… Why should they miss out on being loved. I just hope the people adopting are not doing this for a “public appearance” tactic.

There are enough hugs and kisses that children deserve and plenty of people willing to give them.

Well, think of it this way. A poor boy/girl from an developing country gets the chance to grow up in an environment totally different from where he/she came from. He/she would be treated as the couple's own son/daughter, would get the very best from the couple and would live a very great life. He/she would go to the best schools, have a comfortable home, and have the chance to become somebody which could make positive changes in the world once grown up. He/she could even help out his/her country of origin in the future. Now, is that just another form of slavery?

An orphan living in a 3rd world country being adopted by a wealthy person is not slavery.

Gay or not, 6 kids is a little much but that's their life. If it creates a problem and it's not the best environment for the kids then yeah, they shouldn't have so many.

While i don't care if a husband/wife adopt outside of the country, celebs do that for the free press. It does when gay couple or single people do. It has been PROVED that children w/o both parents at home setting the proper example, they have a harder time in life because they have alot of guessing to do that they would have learned growing up.

Hmmm, I never thought that at all. I saw them as being caring people who wanted to share their wealth and priveledge with kids who would not have had a chance otherwise. I saw people choosing kids in the worst of circumstances whom would fit in with their family and benefit most all around. Your so called idea of "abnormal" parents" are just adults like you. Because they chose a different lifestyle than you, doesn't mean they are beneath you. I know a family personally like this and have been friends with the guy for 20 years (since we were 15) and GASP...allow him to be around my own children and friends with them! GASP! He knew he was GAY when he was 10 in elementary school. GASP! My children are much more rounded by meeting people of all types and have NEVER been hindered. My kids don't look down on ANYONE, I have never taught them to do so. My kids will have the upper hand, because they will know how to befriend all people and deal with YOUR type!!!!! :)
Regardless of age, country, sexual orientation, and fame. Why should others not help out a CHILD in NEED. I don't have a problem with it, and even if they don't adopt a child from the good ole' USA.....at least they are adopting and taking care of a child in need. All children should be loved. These celebrities you are talking about have enough money to pay housekeepers, security agents, drivers, publicists, cooks, accountants, and every kind of help imaginable....they don't need child labor for crying out loud!!!!! Find a different argument. I have been lucky enough to have three of my own children, I don't USE them, AND NEVER WOULD... I just appreciate and try to be there for them, and commend others for taking in lost children. I know they are trying to do the same thing and LOVE the child they bring into their family! Why are you trying to trivialize and make them feel like CRAP for doing so!!!!!
Geeezz...how old are you, or what church did you go to???? You seem like you think you are religious, yet other people are doing nice things by adopting children while you put them down for it. Aren't YOU NOT supposed to JUDGE?????????????????? What would Jesus do? HMMMmmmmmm.................

Apparently you need to go to church a little more often.

Wow, I never thought of it that way! I agree! Kids are taken away from a country they were born in into a screwed up, messed up, corrupted America! Kids are like pets at Petco now days... As long as they're form Asia of Africa... that's so not right!

Your wrong, those children would not have parents if someone didn't adopt them and i am sure they will get proper care and love.your just being prejudice.and jealous
think about what it means to that child that they have someone to care for them
slavery is something totally different from someone adopting a child.
I was molested as a seven year old,It took years to get over that to a degree, but i don't hate All gays ,those gays didn't adopt to molest, they adopted because they wanted children ,to love and care for and raise up as fine humans is my assumption, I am not going to hate them all, i refuse to,
judge not least you be judged.your so perfect?

If slavery is being moved into a million dollar home, travel the world and be able to be educated and not worry about student loans...then sign me up...Brangelina can adopt me next.
