I think all parents think of that...at leats I do.
That's why I make sure to try and teavh them to be good people. We can't be in control of every decision they make though so we have to always be prepared.

Your question sounds VERY morbid on the surface, but only be-
cause you came right out & said it! All caring parents try to instill
the things they "hope" will help their children "choose" the paths
to health, happiness, security. Think of how many billion parents
in the world have a religion with a value system and do many things
to pass that on to their children. Here in the US, millions attend a
church regularly and often several 1 hour meetings per week. I've
found life seems to work much better when I work on MYSELF,
rather than when I waste energy trying to determine what IS or what
MAY BE wrong with others. After all, common sense will tell you
that ultimately, even though I may sometimes influence OTHERS,
"The ONLY ONE I can CHANGE is ME" Perhaps when one has
"successfully reared a batch of children, and "they" have done the
same"....then one might right a book etc so everyone else might
benefit from the correct choices and avoid the pitfalls identified in
the book. It wouldn't help. You live in a real world. Let God run the
show, and try to help Him if you can learn to follow.

Actually, I have thought this. You know how they say, oh your unborn baby could be the next president, or some other wonderful icon... Well great, but I could be the worst parent, and my child could be the most horrible person ever... Of course you hope for the best, but be a realist, your child might be the best dishwasher at Applebees & you did all you could as a parent.
I think what's important is recognizing reality. Let your children be who they will be & support & love them. Guide them & give them direction, help them & eventually they'll find their own path. They probably won't be president, few of us will be, but they could be very successful in their own right.

Same thing I say to Pro-lifers when they do the whole "they could be a doctor, a lawyer, the president (look at what happened with little G.W. Bush)" lol. I'm neither prolife nor prochoice but it is irritating when they pull that one on others.
Kelly4U2 I totally agree with you, and one of my friends works with kids and gets that from the parents all the time, some even encourage them to be bullies.

Good parents worry about that and make sure their kids do not grow up to be useless anything.
I want my kids to know I love them and I am proud of them no matter what the do. I hope they make good choices in life and that I can be a soft place to land if they need too.

The sad truth is that many parents see these tendencies in their children and choose to ignore it until it's too late. Nobody wants to think that of their child. That's why I make sure to hold my son accountable for what he does instead of treating him like mommy's perfect little angel when he beats the crap out of someone telling him "that boy must have done something really bad to you and deserved it" like most parents do.

Every parent has the best intentions of this hopefully not happening, but sometimes, a parent can lose control of their kids, therefore it might result in what you said. But no parent wants to think like that, it just happens sometimes and it sad that it does.

No parents will think worse about their child. Every one would like to see their child with good career. But that's all depends upon the situation where, how, in which circumstances they will grow up.

if you raise them right and are there for needs and wants and lov e and affection there is NO reason for a child to end up bad...there are no real bad kids..just look at their parents.and most people love their kids regardless of what they've done because they are too stupid and selfish to realize it
