The pump is on the front left hand side of the block near the bottom. you'll see the rubber fuel line going thrugh the left hand side of the inner fender, where it connects to a steel tube that runs along the frame rail to the tank. between the pump and the inner fender is where the filter should be, if it isn't, put it there. this will save the pump from being destroyed due to deposits in your fuel damaging the diaphragm. most of these cars usually have the filter after the pump, at the top of the motor near the carb and distributor. this is probably why you need a new pump. the parts are cheap and fairly easy to install if you have some basic mechanical knowledge. good luck.

Fuel pump should be on the side of the block, can't remember what side in a 66 but its easily visible, also the fuel filter should be an in line near or screwing into the carburetor. Both should be very easy to locate, and relatively simple to change as those things go. Expensive no, fuel pump under 20 bucs, filter depending on if its plastic or the original glass, 8 bucs or under.
LOL Yea, Lee, must be pretty interested in what I answer, I'm quite flattered :)

Open the hood and look to the right, youll see a can shaped container. It is attached to the block by 2 bolts. All you have to do is disconnect the lines and put a cork or a bolt big enough to squeeze into the end of the hose so you dont make a mess. Scrape off the old gasket put on the new one and the new pump. Your looking at a 20 to 50 dollar job and about half an hour. Good luck.

This is a link to a page with the fuel pump for your car. Their price is about $30.
If I recall it is on the left side of the block. Disconnect the lines and pull a couple bolts.
the fuel filter should be an inline between pump and carb.
