I bought some light fixtures a while back that were a screaming deal. They are really nice, and cost like $15. I later came to realize that they use some funky weird light bulbs that no one sells. They have short brass prongs that plug into holes in the fixture. I don't know what they're called or what to do. Has anyone heard of these lights? Is there anything I can do to convert the light fixture to use normal bulbs instead?

What you have described sounds to me like a compact fluorescent bulb and they are easy to find at most any good home improvement store. Take the fixture (if possible) to the store and ask for the most knowledgeable employee regarding light bulbs and they should (sic) be able to find a match or at least point you in the right direction.

Barring that, it might be possible to change the fixture to accept a bulb with an Edison (screw type) base. The only obstacle to this is there may be a ballast in the existing fixture that might have to be removed or bypassed. Find a local electrician or a good handyman that can tackle this.

There are several types of fluorescent bulbs that use four pin connections: Circline bulbs, and several styles of 2- and 4-tube fluorescent assemblies; these are all sold by major home supply retailers. There are several different kinds, not necessarily compatible, and you will have to hunt and perhaps experiment. If the fixtures are small enough to tote, you could take one to a store and inquire.

No you can't convert them.
If the bulb is round it is a circleline flurscent.
A good lighting store will have the bulbs. Check your phonebook I am sure you will find what you need. I installed this type of light often in kitchens.

Seeing your limited ability to describe the electrical fixture more accurately, it is evident that you know nothing about electrical equipment.
You cannot convert this fixture to use normal bulbs: perhaps an Electrical engineer like me can!

Conversion will be difficult due to size, wattage requirements. Best bet is to check out Lamps Plus, Home Depot, or other places and see if they carry or can special order it for you. Don't buy bulbs on eBay. Special orders from the big name hardware stores means that they will guarantee to exchange/refund your item if it's broken upon delivery. eBay stores won't be so easy.
