I watched a science program, not so long ago, and they showed how a bar of Ivory soap ends up looking like a huge marshmallow. I didn't have any, so I used Goat's milk soap instead. The one thing they neglected to say was that you will never get the smell out of your microwave. Scorched soap is not a very nice smell. In fact it's quite overpowering.

When I was about 8 I put a knife in the little hole in the microwave that prevents you from running it with the door open and blew the thing up. Shut down the power to the house too.

I also put a bar of soap in the microwave. I was trying to get it so it would be easier to cut (for arts and craft class) but also ended up looking like a marshmallow, and it was useless because I couldn't crave it, the way I wanted to.

Another dumb thing I did in the microwave was putting Stove Top in the microwave without water (becasue I forgot to), but with margarine, and I put it in the microwave, it was really burnt when I got it out. Before I put the Stove Top in the microwave I through the margarine out (because there was zero left). And when I told another person what happened,(because they wanted it) they said "But it did not turn out!" Another person stood up for me, and said "She did not know that this was going to happen."

My daughter was trying to help with dinner once and was making Stove Top Stuffing. When I went to check on her, it looked rather strange. Here, she had forgotten to put the little seasoning packet in. Well, I knew I couldn't just add that seasoning packet as it was, because there would be freeze-dried hard thingys in it. So, I thought I would mix that little packet with a bit of water and microwave it to soften it up and then add it the rest. Not a good idea. For some reason, it caught on fire. There we were preparing the rest of dinner and then glance over to see flames in the microwave. Quite startling.

I consider most of the foods I put in there to be equally dumb. I did, however, a few years ago, after purchasing a new one, take the old one way out in the yard on an extension cord, and pretended to be a Mythbuster. The neatest one was when I put in a bunch of metal filings from different metals, including aluminin, iron, copper, zinc, and mu metal. They were in a cup filled with paint thinner. A great, albeit brief, show!

I too have tried the soap, but I would have to say the dumbest was a plastic container of jujubes that I got for my birthday. I still have the scar on my thumb from where I burned myself.

MWAP sounds dangerous. =0)

My mom put the newspaper in the microwave. It was wet from the rain and she thought that would dry it out. Of course it caught on fire and my dad has never let her live it down.
