Cute, when you shower (as opposed to bathing in the tub)your soap dishes fill with water & dissolves & melts your soap. Also when you shower you are standing up, so with the soap on a rope hanging in your shower it is there for you to use. Convienence.

The purpose of it is to hang the soap on a rope on your arm during a shower so you won't drop it. Afterwards, you hang it from the shower head to dry out between showers. A dry bar soap lasts longer and won't melt like when it sits on a soap dish.
