Call a local church - they can probably direct you in the right direction.

Hmmm...I don't know where you are located but around the Memphis, TN area there are kitchens like "The Union Mission" that are very glad to accept all items. Abuse centers are usually glad to get the donations and don't overlook the literacy council. The Literacy Council tends to have connections to places you can make donations to...try that. Also, don't forget that the Salvation Army & Goodwill are simply exchanging your donation for cash to fund needs..it's still very good.

My husband is a fireman and they have people drop things off at the station for the local Battered Woman's Shelter since it is a "private" place. I don't know if this is something you can do in your area or not, but you may want to try at a fire station or even police dept.

You can inquire about organizations that help battered women or homeless shelter. If you give me more clues as to your location, like a zip code, I may be able to find a resource center for you.

You may also ask at churches, they usually give to poor people. Or if you dare, go to an underpriviledged section of town and give it away.
I am glad you want to help out instead of throwing in the trash can.

in defense of the salvation army (which i work at) , we give toys, clothes, furniture, household items away to anyone who is in need. we do however have a thrift store which people shop at and the money goes right back into society to help other people pay their bills and help on prescriptions.

Check the local churches or media that sponsors clothing, i.e. coat drives. Try to locate women shelter, possibly orphanage or senior center.

Hi,it's good to give to the needy than throwing them. What to do is,go to charity organisation, they will guid you on how to or where to donate.Because we are told, when you give, you recieve. If possible, look for someone that that you know can be faithful to take them to any Children's home he or she knows.Onother way is,if there is a church leader near where you,you can talk to him about it and he can also direct you.

There are websites and charity organisations like 'Asha' and 'Actionaid', for giving guidance: but, you could also take help from church and related org's, and, some good public library and community centres in your place!

go to the libray and get the person there to look it up on the internet for you or do it yourself and it should tell you where these homes are and then you can write or phone them that you have stuff for them and where to drop it off=they may come to you for the stuff
