If you thought that your job was going to close soon. Would you look for another job before it does or wait it out?

The more education you have, the less difficulty you would have in finding a job.

So I would pursue an academic career. If you have no degree, get an AA/AS in something that isn't a waste of time, if you have an AA/AS, get a BA/BS, or a masters, et cetra. Don't be a whiny ***** and say you can't do that. Get loans, take night classes, do an online program (that doesn't suck or is a scam), do what it takes to get your education. Then you won't have to worry about finding employment.

In the meantime, if you have a reasonably well paying job, you should stay where you are, save up, and start looking for another job that pays equally well or better.

I will never have that fear again, because I have a home business in health and wellness, and it is fast becoming a trillion dollar industry. The baby boomers are getting older and starting to really feel aches and pains, I have something that can help them with a lot of those.
If you can stay ahead of the baby boomers, you will always have an income....it's been proven over and over again.

Depends if your whole company was closing or not. If your whole company is closing you might want to get a head start and find a job before all your co-works do.

If I had the money to take time off, why not enjoy it?

Life is short and we work for the rest of our lives, some of us starting at 16.

It happened to me. I was an apartment manager. A big construction company bought the complex, and asked me to stay while we finished letting people's leases expire, and moving them out.
They tempted me with a job offer with their nice big company, so like a fool I stayed loyal.
They got what they wanted from me, which was to do their dirty work, and I got nothing !
