To believe in life after death can be helpful if someone is depressed after loosing loved ones.
I prefer life than the non existence of death but i am not scared to end one day when i am very old, around 94 years old

Certainly you'll get a variety of answers but remember this. There is historical proof that Jesus Christ rose from the dead (there is however the ? if it was spititual or bodily)and in His teachings stated we would all be as angels after death-those that is that follow after His commandments. It says we shall know each other.However-Mohammed-Buddah-etc.have all been buried and the flesh rotted off of them. No where in the histories does it speak of mohammed being a prophet in the same context as John or Elijah.David was not a prophet but a king and man who followed after God's own heart. So I say unto you.Seek life and the giver thereof and in that you will find the answers your searching.

to say there is no evidence is to fail to conceptualize that as of now certain things are beyond our scientific capabilities to study. We have no way at this time to truly measure and study such phenomenom to determine if it exists or not. For all we know the afterlife could be a scientific creation by our distant ancestors. Either way, we'll find out in time.

Personally, I find it amazing that we could have conceptualized the idea of an afterlife at all. This ability to conceptualize beyond physical observations is of the same type that allow Einstein to theorize the existence of black holes.

Yes as a muslim I should believe in six pillars of faith :
1)believe in Allah the only one God and no other god than Allah
2)believe in the holy books given by Allah as the life guide i.e
Zabur,Torah,Bible and the last Qur'an which have been given through the prophets David,Moses,Jesus and Muhammad pbuh.
3)believe in many prophets as messengers of Allah with the last prophet Muhammad pbuh
4)believe in angels
5)believe in life after death
6)believe in Allah's decree
So I do believe in life after death because it is included in the six pillars of faith (rukun iman) see number 5 above.
The life after death several times in several surahs spoken by Allah in the holy Qur'an and also stated by Muhammad pbuh in hadeth. In surah 17 Al Isra ,Muhammad pbuh has been lifted to Allah where he met prophet Adam,Abraham,Moses,
,Jesus etc and he reveived an Allah's instruction for praying at least 5 times a day.Allah gives the picture of life after death in the holy Qur'an.

Who knows -- I do not know!

One of many ridiculous theories --

When a "living" organization of matter (produced by the chance of evolution) is formed, then some of the university's Dark Matter (or interstellar medium ??) concentrates round this and stays with it until the organization disintegrates. This "soul" or whatever you want to call it dissolves into the ether, parts to be brought together with other parts of Dark Matter to form another "soul" around another highly organized piece of matter.

Ridiculous! -- but as good as any other theory.

Yes, because the only time it becomes tangible evidence is when it is a vital concern -- either when you're dying or when some you love is dying or dead. For an "objective" scientist to state that no evidence exists simply means that he or she is not vitally interested or able to discern vital from popular.

One half of our mind operates from static electricity , the other is chemical, the electricity part is where we memorize and dream and I would think that it would always survive a death of the fleshly body
