I am looking for good paying careers ... that pay $70,000 and up. Are medical jobs the only good paying ones around? I like animals, outdoors, and photography, art, fashion but there is nothing i really can do. I like fashion but i'm not a designer. I want a set job, i don't want to be a photographer and see if i can make a living that way, you know? Does anyone have any advice? In NYC rhat are most of the jobs like there? Corporate people with lots of schooling right? I know i'll have to go to college but, i want something that i have an actual chance doing, i want to pursue something that is within reach for me.

Here's a fact for you to consider: The"smart""A" students end up working for the "B" students who work for the dropouts and / or the "C" students. If you don't consider yourself the brightest crayon as you put it, then as long as you believe in yourself and your reasons, goals, dreams or whatever you want to call it, I'd say you'll do fine!

You could work as a receptionist at a medical centre, or even the vet office. you answer phones and do some typing. You are the front person of the company, usually you don't do as much work as the secreatry, or as an adim, or pa. I mean you did say if "your not the brightest crayon in the box". Its a clean job you meet professional people and it pays o.K. around $400-500 a week.

I have a home business in health and wellness and the only requirements are desire to earn an excellent income and a strong willingness to learn. It's something anyone can do if they put their mind to it. You could earn 2 or 3 times that amount after building your business, then you would have the time, money and freedom to pursue photography and anything else you desire!

$70,000 and up? You're dreaming, right? Try retail management. The ones who succeed are the ones who are organized, know how to organize people, and can bust their butts to get things done. My hubby is a mgr for a major big-box retailer, and while he's no math whiz, has dyslexia, and is extremely shy, he has managed to be one of the best asst mgrs in the region. Why? Because he's willing to work his butt off, go the extra mile, is not afraid to tell people what they have to do to improve their performance, and is not afraid to p*ss off people when necessary, and yet he still obviously cares about his employees and customers. He may or may not like you, but he will stand up for you if you need help regardless of his private opinions. In retail, often the people who seem misplaced in an office setting flourish-- those who had 9 to 5, mon-fri; those who hate wearing high-heeled shoes or suits to work; those who have common sense, did well in highschool, and are quick thinking, and intelligent, but don't have a college degree; have a high degree of energy and competivness, but aren't motivated by the possibility of a big bonus after a year. Go to work for a discount retail chain, like Wal*Mart, Target, even Sears is gettin in on the genre. Start at the bottom, but tell your supervisor that you want to aim towards management. Ask to do the hard jobs, volunteer for the inventory prep team, be willing to work on your day off to finish a project. My Hubby started at Home Depot as a part time cashier, while going to community college studying archtectural drawing. WHen he realized that his studies were going nowhere, he quit school, and went to work full-time as a building material assoc. He was such a hard worker, and knew how to supervise a team of peolple to get a job done, that he was a supervisor himself by the end of a year. Two years later, he became an assistant mgr ($40,000). Two years after that he quit, and marketed himself for $60,000. He got hired by a certain retailer (the bull's eye one) and after 4 yrs hes' on the verge of maxing out his paygrade.
