No.
I think there is a shortage of jobs for those highly skilled workers!
NAFTA under Clinton....but designed by GHW Bush and
the SPP Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America under GW Bush are the worst policies ever implemented against the US labor force!!!

This is what our government is doing quietly and not too many people are paying close enough attention!!
Write, call, e-mail your state representatives, the White House, and every American media outlet and ask them what is going on and what they are doing to stop it!!!
I for one don't want to become the North American Union!!!

Highly skilled as in college educated? Probably, although these people tend to concentrate in areas where jobs for the people are available. So places like New York, Silicon Valley, Seattle, Austin, etc... have a lot more highly educated workers, than say, Cleveland or Detroit. Now highly skilled as in skilled trade workers? No, we're beat on this by places like India, where companies would rather export jobs because of lower wages. And I think countries like Luxembourg and Sweden have on average better educated workers, but these are small countries and can afford to do that. We may not have the MOST highly skilled per capita, but we have the BEST since the best education and highest paying jobs are here in America. It'll be a while, but other countries are on their way to chatching up.

Based upon how you responded to Kelly B I have to assume you didn't really have a question, you were just seeking someone to validate your opinion. Is that accurate?
The correct answer is really dependant on your definition of highly skilled. Is a surgeon highly skilled? How about a teacher? A public relations specialist , auto mechanic , electrician , the list is endless without some criteria to establish what highly skilled really means.
The availability of jobs in this country has NEVER been better than now though. And the more knowledge & skills you acquire, the more opportunities you will be presented with.
There is a developing shortage among recent high school graduates with regard to the ability to think & analyze a subject objectively..

You betcha, one of the best, most productive workforces in the world. Unfortunately, the current mindset is to ship jobs overseas and our highly skilled workforce is being under utilized.

Yes...for the most part we do. America is the leader in technology, aerospace, medicine, robotics and many others. Democrats want to increase funding for training and retraining programs to better our society, especially during the Information Age when education is germane.
