I mean, Geen Day is like 43 years old or what? Avril is just...ug. Been rich and famous for TOO long. People think they are individual but they are the face of mass consumer consumption. Has Avril been a Barbie doll yet or what? Whas individual about dying your hair black and wearing leggings? EVERYBODY DOES IT!

Trying to deside on want we should listening to ... but
ppl should listen to w/e ever you like not b/c its a hit maker.
I like avril and greenday... but lately they've been very over-rated as you said. An Avril, is really getting the fame and glory in her head that she forgot want is like being a regular person... I feel bad for her in her new video... she's embrassing herself.

Green Day is still popular not for their individuality but for their ability to evolve. Yes they became mainstream, but it was a choice they made in the early 90's and many of their fans then have stuck with them now. The rest have just come for the ride.
Avril Levigne (sp?) hasn't had a true hit in a long time what made her so popular was her image rather then her music.
You are basing the two on their image not their music. Which is what has made Green Day last past the many copy cats of the earlier part of this century.
And Teen Agers have been dying their hair black long before either became popular...it's called adolescence.

I often wonder this myself. American rock sucks in comparison to the UK's rock. Pink Floyd, the Beatles, U2, Radiohead, Oasis, Blur, etc. are all bands from the UK. Maybe it's bands like Green Day and artists like Avril Lavigne that are turning Americans to the crap that is known as hip-hop and rap.

Ugh! I couldn't agree more. But with Avril lavigne and her sucky attitude, I would love for a REAL rocker chick to get their hands around her throat and put her in her place. I don't like her music, and I don't like her!

as far as green day goes it is hard to let go of the great music they once made. Part of my growing up was soundtracked by greenday..... Sometimes bands sell out, but I dont think that makes their pre-sellout music any less worthy of my ears......

yah i dont see anything special about green day. just another band..and i hate avril..she is ugly and trashy and her voice pretty much sucks. so im gonna agree with u..
