US interferes in the politics of nearly every country around the globe. When it suits its interests it backs military regimes, like in so many countries in South America, in coups to take control and even suppress democracy. At the same time, it uses financial, political and military clout to align nations to its thinking. When it is doing so, it is in the interest of all nations to ensure that the Govt (Prez) and Elected representatives of Congress should be the ones that they want elected and ones who would support policies favoring these nations. Every nation has its own vested interest and US could be the handy tool, organization and weapon to implement those interests. What do you guys think?

noone is sovereign anymore, just the 'mighty' dollar. Wider global interests are not a priority for the administration of the moment. nepotism and delusions of grandeur steer an untapped power for good. imagine if all americans voted, imagine if they cared, imagine if they put down their guns and picked up atlases. a true democracy and sovereign state has fully informed and fully participating citizens who are able to question their leaders and are privvy to the actions of their government. The people are half way there, the government still doesn't want to play ball. i know, it's terrifying and sad.

Nuclear weapons are for stepped forward international locations who've considered the terrible effects first hand. short answer: for a similar reason you do not provide a 2, 3, 4, 5, six, seven, or 8 year previous a loaded gun.

The US is a republic.

Are you registered to vote? Why not run for politics? Right now, all we have is a coice between one crook or the other when we vote. I think the US should mind its own business for a while and fix our own problems but our 'king george' decided he wanted to pick a war to make some money for him and his friends.

It is sovereign in the sense that no other country is allowed to enact laws which the US is obligated to follow against its will.

Sovereign does not mean isolated, however.

No. Wild & landless capitals (most of them situated at the US - for their convenience) are the only Sovereigns from the world.
