Need some help!

Evaluate the factorial or permutation.

A menu offers a choice of 3 salads, 8 main dishes, and 5 desserts. How many different meals consisting of one salad, one main dish, and one dessert are possible?

If you can please explain to me how you got the answer. I am more so trying to learn how to do it.

You mulitply each number given.
3 x 8 x 5 = 120
This is the maximum amount of combinations available

Think of it this way. Each of the 3 salads can be combined with 8 main dishes each. Thus, so far there are 24 combinations. Then, each of these 24 cominbations can be combined with 5 deserts each. Then, there are a total of 120 meal combinations. Hope this helps!

Just match them up, list all the possible cominations and then count the number of combinations up. thats the least complicated way to do it.
