Click start, go to Control Panel and select Printers & Faxes, then select the printer that has gone offline and right click it. You will have a few options in that window, one of which should say something like "use printer online" or "connect printer" if you click that the printer will be set back to "online"

Without knowing what your definition of "go offline" is. Does that mean it's wireless, networked? What kind is it? What exactly happened? Was there any error messages?

Without the pertinent information all I can say is power down, cross your fingers & restart.
