Ok snow isn't a big deal, I've lived in it for the past 22 years. About the only thing you really need to worry about is driving in it. The roads can become very icy and slippery when it snows, driving with caution will be very necissary. Also dress appropriate, layers are key, if your cold your screwed, if your in a lot of layers and are warm you can take a layer off till your comfotable. Also proper foot ware is good to have on, shoes and socks, boots if its super snowy. If your going to be traveling in the snow I would suggest keeping a blanket, a flash light , a candy bar, a bottle of water or soda and matches in reach just incase your car/truck gets stranded!!! But it's not bad, snow is actually really pretty! Good luck!

It really depends on where in America you will be - some of the southern US never sees snow, and some sees snow very rarely. The snow is not a bad thing - if you will be in an area that gets snow, be sure to invest in some warm clothing - warm gloves, hat, jacket, and good warm boots are a must. Clothing that breathes is a good idea, as is wearing layers. Some parts of the US, like northern California get many inches of snow, but it doesn't get very cold. Make friends with a neighbor with a plow or snowblower. If you have to drive, drive slowly when it is actively snowing, and leave lots of space between you and the car in front of you and don't pass snowplows. There are tons of really fun things to do in the snow - downhill or cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, etc. You may decide you really love it, you never know!

Where in America are you being sent to? Snow is minimal south of I40 in winter. They have a tendency to get a little more in ice storms. North of I40 will depend on location, location, location. Some winters will see little snow, while others will be doozies. Check local climate data for where you are being sent to & assess their average winter.
When you are outside, layer up, so you don't get too chilled. If you encounter winter weather, assess the situation 1st. A few flurries are nothing to worry about. They are like sprinkles. It's when the snow accumulates that becomes the problem. Leave early, watch the Weather Channel or local news, slow down to a safe speed & don't brake or turn suddenly. Sudden manuevers will spin you around or take you into places you don't want to be If you use your senses, you will know when you are on a slippery surface. The 1st couple of snowfalls are the worst for drivers. We have a tendency to forget how to drive in it. If you don't feel comfortable driving in it, don't be afraid to call in or ask a co worker or friend to pick you up & take you to your destination. If it gets deep enough to close everything down, go try sledding or another winter sport. Relax & enjoy it!!. .

Its not that bad as long as you wear something warm and dont stay outside to long. The worst part is ice when you can slip and fall and hurt yourself. It also makes driving cars around not as safe because of slippery conditions. But snow is fun and make great scenery. Dont worry you will be fine, the guys at the pub are making it ten times worst than it actually is.

well... snow can kill you if youre not careful. if youre out in the cold for too long - which will be apparent when you start loosing fingers and other appendages-- you can die.. but usually, especially in largely populated areas of the states, you'll be able to get to shelter before its too late.
snow... its .... its cold. uh. i dont know. youre just going to have to experience it for yourself. just keep wrapped up. dont eat yellow or discolored snow.
if youre in a survival situation-- melt your snow before consuming it...
good luck. have a nice time in the states.
