Have you heard the saying "Heterosis" and if you have, how do you interperate it

My son who is gay, says its a new saying that has arrived, meaning, "he is heterosis, suffers with the heterosexual discriminating views regarding homosexuals, just wondered if it is a saying that has caught on in other countries? We are Australia.

Sounds like the condition of being horribly heterosexual!

Not familiar with the term. That said, relatively speaking, our understanding of sexual orientation is pretty new. In a lot of ways, we are still developing ways to talk about it.

I've heard of "heterosexism", and "homophobia", as well as the internalized version of both.

Homophobia is fear of hatred of non-straight people. Heterosexism is the overal structure that keeps us down. It's the assumption that everyone is straight, it's the institutional ills that do not see us as equals etc. Heterosis is a new one on me. (Sounds like cell division or something) but I'll keep an eye out (an ear out?).
